Washing is the main reason knitwear loses its shape. The good news is you can do it less.
- Air your knit overnight after wearing it. Most smells disappear on their own.
- When you do wash it, use cold water and a wool detergent.
- Never hang a wet knit. Dry it flat on a towel.
- Fold knits instead of hanging them, so the shoulders do not stretch.
Follow these and a good sweater will last for years.
